If you ask my mother, she'll tell you this is the most frequently requested dish within the family (well from me at least).
I can finish this entire plate all by myself. It's not just any steamed eggs. My mother adds century eggs & salted eggs too, using of course the ubiquitous stainless steel dish.
Don't tell my mum but that's why we moved back to Singapore so that I can have this anytime I want.

Hi, came across ur blog while browsing. Your daughter is very very beautiful :)
thinkingmama - welcome to my blog & thank you.
Mmmmmm this is also one of my fave dishes... Never thought of adding century egg to it.
I like a little mince meat in it too.
I miss it too! Haven't had a good one since my mom passed on ...
OMG! I was just reading my recipe book that day that said to add century egg & salted egg to the steamed egg (with minced meat too) and I was thinking "How come I have not eaten this kinda steamed egg before?" (It was supposed to be a "Malaysian Hawker Fare cookbook" - I guess I didn't go out to the hawkers as much as I thought I have been!)... and then your post came up. HOW COINCIDENTAL!
Ivana - I'm sure you can find century eggs @ Tang Freres. Try this. It's better than with minced meat
Jim - Come over & I'll make sure my mum cooks this for you
Tsulin - The hawkers here do it too but it's usually with minced pork
